Guess Who?

Guess who was standing in his crib at 12:30 am this morning?  Time to lower the mattress.

Daddy

Happy Father's Day to my children's Daddy, to my Daddy, to my father-in-law and all the other Dads out there!
Steve requested Old Country Buffet for lunch today, something I've been able to avoid throughout our marriage, up until this point. :) Maggie was a big fan of the pancakes.

We got to see Bapa, back from Korea, along with Grammy and Aimee Saturday night.  Maggie played her harmonica while Bapa read bedtime books.  We also had a nice time with Steve's parents Sunday night for dinner and games.

Meeting Dora

It's no secret that Maggie is a big fan of Dora the Explorer.  When my sister-in-law told me that Dora would be making an appearance at Toddler Tuesday at the Mall of America this week, I knew we had to go.  We invited a buddy of Maggie's to come along with his mom and baby brother, and embarked on our journey bright and early Tuesday morning.

When we arrived at the mall, we immediately got in the line to see Dora and began waiting.  We saw Dora from a distance, and Maggie was so excited!  The kids did surprisingly well waiting for a half an hour until we made it to the front of the line.

We finally got all the way to the front, and...Dora went on break.  So we had to wait another half hour until she came back out.  Thankfully, they had an episode of Dora playing to keep the kids entertained.  Maggie and R watched (at least Maggie did), danced (Maggie), and had a snack (both).

Then the big moment finally arrived.  Dora was back and ready to greet us.  Security removed the rope, Dora waved at Maggie, and...

I think if we had more time, Maggie would've warmed up to Dora. I'm sure it was a shock for Maggie to see her favorite character larger than life right in front of her.  I was able to coax a little wave out of Maggie, until I felt the pressure from the large crowd behind us to move along.

It was then time for a yummy lunch from Chipotle, and R, who was such a good sport wanted to go on the Big Rigs ride at Nickelodeon Universe.

After seeing the Blue's Clues ride, Maggie just had to give it a try.  This actually really surprised me, considering her aversion to rides of other sorts.

Overall it was a fun first time out for Toddler Tuesday, and I think we'll do it again sometime!

New Term

This morning, as we were getting ready to go to the Mall of America to meet Dora (pics and details to come), Maggie came downstairs and informed me she just put on "armpit lotion." That would be my deodorant. Made sense to her!

Just Another Day at the Office

(Photos by Nikki Prunick)

It's really too bad he doesn't enjoy his job.

Watermelon!

I love watching these two interact and make each other laugh.  They really do enjoy each other's company...most of the time.  I pray that their bond continues to grow and that they are wonderful friends as they get older.

Open House

This past weekend was our last weekend of traveling to Fairmont for all of my sister Aimee's senior/graduation festivities.  All of her events this spring culminated with her graduation open house at my parents' house Sunday evening.  My dad had the lawn and landscaping looking marvelous, while my mom's food preparation was amazing. Congrats, Aimee!
Aimee with the fabulous spread.

Yummy cupcakes made by my mom!

Another one of the yummy flavors.

Just one of Maggie's favorites.
She was thrilled about the all the colors and stars topping this tie-dyed cupcake.
Mmmm!

In lieu of a guestbook.
Missing the brothers and sisters-in-law.

The laundry bag I made for Aimee from this tutorial. Lumps are from the Ramen I stuffed inside.
Got to see lots of extended family.  Maggie had a blast with Mommy's cousin, Kari.

On Saturday, we took some time off from cleaning and making food to play outside.

Bode was getting a little tired of this position.  Soooo close to crawling!
